Separators for cakes are polystrene blocks either round or square and are 2″ in depth (50mm). To use – dowels are place in the tier and the separator can then be used (ensure you use the dowels within the circumference of the separator you are using). Another tier rests on this.
In all cases you have to ensure the cake is level and the dowels flush with the level of the icing prior to stacking.
